How it works:

If you are living near a military community or moving soon, start with completing an application. A loan officer will review your loan request and contact you within 24 hours, (usually the same day). You may be required to provide additional supporting documents. If approved, you will receive a Pre-Approval letter so you can start shopping. Contact a real estate agent and look for the perfect home to meet your needs. When you find it you or your agent must provide the home information to the lender for closing. During this process your loan officer will use email, fax and overnight mail to send documents needing verification and signatures. When it's time to close the loan, you and your agent will select a location and the loan officer will make sure all documents are available.

VA Certificate
In most cases a lender can get Department of Veteran Affairs approval for your loan when you submit the application. However, in some rare cases a paper copy is required. If you need a paper copy, be sure to request it right away. It takes 2-3 weeks to receive.
