Tips
1. If you earned combat pay, hazard duty pay or any other special pays that you will not have when you return, this income cannot be considered for qualifying you for a VA Loan.
2. If you saved up or will have a substantial amount of money when you return from a deployed location, it may be necessary to pay down some debts to get qualified for a higher loan. Also remember to save some money for your part of the closing costs.
3. When you get back, Celebrate! But don’t make any large purchases such as a new car or any other high dollar item on credit before buying a home. This could affect your debt to income ratio and disqualify you for a VA Loan.
